Red fruit and raspberry up front — jasmin underneath, like a floral note that appears and disappears. Then the acidity hits: grapefruit, orange, clean and bright. The body is light, almost tea-like, which makes it easy to drink and hard to put down.

Behind this coffee are 1,332 smallholder farmers delivering to Kanjathi Factory, one of five washing stations operated by the Kangiri Farmers' Cooperative Society in Murang'a County.

The cooperative was formed in 2005 from a merger of five single-factory societies, and today serves nearly 4,000 active members across the region. Each farm averages around 150 trees. Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, washed, fermented in concrete tanks for 12–24 hours, then dried on raised beds for up to two weeks.

The AA grade means these are the largest beans on screen — 17/18 size, over 7.2mm. In Kenya, size and quality tend to go together.
